Introduction

Dr. Zhao, Juan has been engaged in research on contemporary Chinese government and public governance for many years. She has led five national and provincial-level funded projects and participated in two major National Social Science Foundation projects. Dr. Zhao has published 20 papers, which have been downloaded over 47,100 times and cited 806 times. Among these, 15 papers were published in CSSCI journals, with three fully reproduced by Renmin University Reprints and one by the Social Science Digest. As the primary author, she has written five policy advisory reports that received positive comments from vice-state-level leaders. Dr. Zhao has also served as the chief editor for one book and contributed to seven other books as a co-editor or translator.

In her research, Dr. Zhao focuses on three interconnected areas: digital government, government regulation, and social governance. She leads academic research through reform practices and supports reform practices through academic research, effectively telling the story of contemporary China and serving major national concerns.
