IntroductionLi Deng, professor and doctoral mentor of bioengineering at Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT). He received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from BUCT in 2004, Visiting Scholar at the Technical University of Denmark from 2002 to 2003, Postdoctoral Fellow at Nagoya University in Japan from 2005 to 2007. His primary research focus lies in the field of industrial biotechnology, specifically enzyme engineering, fermentation engineering, metabolic engineering, and synthetic biology. He has successfully led over 20 national key research projects funded by Ministry of Science and Technology and National Natural Science Foundation, also international project, Xiamen Major Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Project, Xiamen Talent Plan and enterprise cooperation projects. He has been recognized for his contributions with awards such as the second prize of National Science and Technology Invention Award, first prize of Sinopec Science and Technology Progress Award, and second prize of Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award. Moreover, He has published more than 190 papers, also holds over 20 authorized Chinese invention patents.
