IntroductionBowei Xu received his B.Sc. degree from the Jilin University in 2007 and Ph.D. degree of Polymer Chemistry and Physics from Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry (CIAC) in 2012. After conducting his postdoctoral research in the University of the Basque Country (Spain), and then he joined the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2014 and became an associate professor in 2017. In 2021, Xu joined Beijing University of Chemical Technology as a professor. His current research focuses on electrode modifications in organic photovoltaic (OPV) cells. By developing diverse anode interlayers and cathode interlayers, the photovoltaic performances of OPV cells have been greatly improved, and several records related to photovoltaic efficiency and device stability were achieved. The research results were widely commended by OPV community and have attracted much attention in the field. Prof. Xu as principal investigator is in charge of two research projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China (2018, 2022) and sub-project of National Key Research and Development Program of China. He has published over 30 research papers in international journals, including J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater., Joule etc, which have been cited by other groups for over 1500 times.
