Research

Research field:

1. Precise control of macromolecular architecture and structure-property relationship.

2. Precise control of multi-level structure of maleic anhydride/maleimide copolymers and applications.

3. Utilization of typical olefin resources for functional polymer synthesis.

Overview of scientific research:
(1) Benefiting from the precise construction of macromolecular architecture by utilizing reversible deactivation radical polymerization (RDRP) and other advanced techniques, we are able to gain fundamental insights into macromolecular structure-property correlation.

(2) By controlling the structure of maleic anhydride/maleimide copolymers at different levels (copolymer composition and distribution, side group, topology, aggregated structure…), we develop a rich diversity of maleic anhydride copolymer derivatives as polymer dispersant, microsphere, foam, etc.

(3) We utilize typical olefin resources (both petroleum-based and bio-based) for functional polymer synthesis.
