Introduction

Yang Li, Ph.D. received his doctoral degree from the University of New South Wales, Australia, in 2014, and subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at the ARC Centre of Excellence in Convergent Bio-Nano Science and Technology, Monash University. He joined Beijing University of Chemical Technology in 2016. His research focuses on natural polymer-based wound healing materials, with an emphasis on green natural polymer systems. He has systematically investigated the multiscale structural design of materials and the spatiotemporal regulation mechanisms of wound microenvironments, aiming to advance the precision design of medical dressings and the development of personalized wound therapies. To date, Dr. Li has published more than 40 papers in leading journals including Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, and Matter. He holds over 20 granted invention patents, has achieved technology transfer with a total contract value exceeding 22 million RMB, and serves as the technical director for two biotechnology companies. He is currently an Editorial Board Member of Materials & Design (Elsevier) and a Standing Committee Member of the Wound Repair Materials Subcommittee, Chinese Society for Biomaterials.Dr. Li’s research achievements have been recognized with multiple awards, including the First Prize of the Ministry of Education Natural Science Award (2nd contributor), the First Prize of Beijing Science and Technology Award (6th contributor), and the First Prize of the Chinese Materials Research Society Science and Technology Award (2nd contributor). He has presided over four projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), served as the institutional principal investigator in a National Key R&D Program, and participated in NSFC Key Programs as well as Beijing Municipal Natural Science Foundation Key Projects. In 2025, he was awarded the NSFC Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Class B).
