By constructing three-dimensional solid substrates (Au@SiNWAs, Ag@SiNWAs, etc.) and nano noble metal sol-gel SERS substrates, highly sensitive sensor devices can be fabricated to achieve highly specific and rapid quantitative detection of low concentration biological/chemical molecules. (2) CO2 electrochemical/biological conversion. Using copper based (and other types of) electrocatalysts for electrochemical reduction of CO2 to obtain high-value chemicals such as ethanol, methanol, formic acid, etc; Screening/designing novel biological enzymes to achieve efficient biocatalytic conversion of CO2 and industrial scaling up. (3) Nonlinear optical crystal frequency conversion. Using NLO crystals such as CBO, LBO, CLBO, KBBF to perform frequency upconversion on the pulse/continuous laser output of Nd: YAG and Ti: sapphire lasers to obtain ultraviolet and deep-ultraviolet laser outputs, thereby developing new solid-state lasers with high performance.
