Introduction

Zhigang Chai studied physical chemistry at the Peking University and received his PhD degree in 2016 under supervision of Prof. Dongsheng Xu. In 2018, he moved to the Uppsala University where he worked as a postdoc and a researcher. During this period of his career, he received Young Scientist grant (the ÅForsk Foundation). In 2021, he joined the Beijing University of Chemical Technology as an associated professor. His current research interests focus on synthetic applications of heterogeneous photocatalysis (e.g. CH activation), regulation of surface/interface structures of heterogeneous photocatalysts, and mechanistic investigations via in situ spectroscopies.
