He is also the Director of the Center for Ecological Civilization and Environmental Development Research at the Carbon Neutrality Research Institute of China Industrial Carbon Neutrality (North). Additionally, he serves as the Director of the Atmospheric Environment Research Laboratory at the Environmental Engineering Assessment Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.
Bo Xin is an expert in the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission Expert Database and serves as a reviewer for the Beijing Natural Science Foundation. He is a member of the Second Youth Editorial Committee of the Journal of Engineering Sciences and the First Youth Editorial Committee of the Journal of Environmental Sciences in China. Furthermore, he holds positions as the Executive Committee Member of the Climate Change Branch of the China Environmental Science Society and a member of the Pollution Source Emission and Control Professional Committee of the China Environmental Science Society.
His research interests include atmospheric environmental quality simulation, pollution source emission inventories, environmental big data, environmental informatization, and environmental policies. He has led or participated in over fifty national and provincial-level research projects, focusing on establishing national emission inventories for various pollutants such as carbon, electricity, steel, cement, coke, airport emissions, waste incineration, as well as provincial emission inventories for Shaanxi and Hainan provinces. He has also developed odor tracing systems, enterprise pollution forecasting systems, geographical data systems suitable for CALPUFF model, and AERSURFACE land surface parameter systems.
Bo Xin has published over 100 academic papers, some of which are in high-impact journals such as Nature Energy, Nature Sustainability, and One Earth. He has authored 8 monographs, obtained 5 granted invention patents (mainly licensed/transferred to leading domestic environmental protection enterprises), and registered 11 software copyrights. He has been awarded the First China Environmental Science Society Young Scientist Award, the Second Prize of Environmental Protection Science and Technology Award, the Zijin Quanxing Environmental Science and Technology Publication Fund from Nanjing University, and the China Environmental Science Society Youth Science and Technology Award.
