Introduction

ZHANG Ju, Ph. D, Associate Professor of Department of English at Beijing University of Chemical Technology.

 

Dr. Zhang received her Ph. D and Master’s from Beijing Language and Culture University in 2013 and 2007 respectively. She was a postdoctoral fellow at University of Regina (Canada) from 2018 to 2019.

 

She lectures in Appreciation of Literary TranslationsAn Introduction to Foreign Language Research MethodologyContemporary Western Literary Theories and Comprehensive English.

 

Dr. Zhang’s research interests include literary translation, translation practice and the study of Penelope Fitzgerald’s works.

Research

She has translated The Bookshop and Offshore into Chinese and both have been published by CITIC publishing house. She has translated seven short stories and over two dozen essays from English into Chinese, most of which have been published on Translations, World Literature and The World of English. Her recent eight research articles focus on Penelope Fitzgerald’s novels. A monograph on Penelope Fitzgerald’s fiction is forthcoming.
