The Low Carbon Economy and Management Research Center of Beijing University of Chemical Technology is the first research institution in China to establish an Evaluation Index System for Environmental Responsibility Information Disclosure of Chinese Listed Companies that adapts to Chinese characteristics and has been recognized by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. Based on this evaluation system, our center has collaborated with the Ministry of Environment and Ecology to conduct index research and publish corresponding reports on the Evaluation Report on Environmental Responsibility Information Disclosure of Chinese Listed Companies (2012-2021) for 10 consecutive years since 2012. The main content of the first evaluation report in 2012 was specially reported on the official website of the central government of the People's Republic of China, widely reproduced by mainstream media such as People's Daily Online, and achieved significant social effects. Over the years, the annual report release has received strong support from the leadership of the Ministry of Environment and has been reported by many mainstream media outlets. The team has published multiple research papers based on the research report, trained multiple graduate and doctoral students, and submitted think tank reports such as Focusing on Implementing Systems and Capacity Building, Introducing Third Party Evaluation and Incentive Mechanisms, and Improving the Quality of Enterprise Environmental Information Disclosure, which have been approved and adopted by the Minister of Environmental Protection. Based on the research foundation, from 2020 to 2024, led the team as the leader of the leading unit, focusing on the methodology and management system of greenhouse gas emissions related to climate change, as well as the needs of ESG construction and development, and released 10 group standards. As a key member of the science and technology support plan, the research and demonstration of key technologies for carbon emission verification in the chemical industry won the second prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation. In 2022, the guiding entrepreneurship project, the Carbon Measurement Platform for Small and Medium Enterprises, won the national bronze prize of the National University Students Internet Plus Entrepreneurship Competition. In 2023, the guiding entrepreneurship project, the Carbon Pathfinder, won the gold prize of the National Internet Plus Competition in Beijing. In December 2023, the leading project, the Series Evaluation Report on Environmental Responsibility Information Disclosure of Chinese Listed Enterprises and the Group Standard Development of Low Carbon and Environmental Protection Information in the Appetite Chemical Industry, won the second prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.
