Introduction

Dr. Gang Xiao, MRSC, Associate Professor at Beijing University of Chemical Technology. Gang Xiao received his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering and Technology from Beijing University of Chemical Technology in 2016. He visited Prof. Huaiyong Zhu’s Group at Queensland University of Technology in 2015 as a joint training Ph.D student. He joined the same university as a postdoctoral research fellow in 2016, and then as lecturer in 2018. From Jan-2022 to Dec-2023, he obtained funding support from H2020-MSCA-IF-2020 and worked as Marie Curie Research Fellow at Cardiff Catalysis Institute, hosted by Prof. Graham Hutchings. Then he rejoined Beijing University of Chemical Technology in 2024 to lead the PhotoCatalysis and Photo-Bio-Catalysis Lab. His main research interests are plasmonic catalysis, nano-photocatalysis, and photo-biocatalysis. He has been funded by the National Key Research and Development Program of China, China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and Beijing Excellent Talent Training Funding-Youth Backbone Individual Project, and won the honor of Outstanding Bachelor Thesis-Excellent Supervisor Excellent and Chen Jiayong Prize. He has published 45 journal papers with citation of more than 2200 times and H-factor of 22. He has applied for 5 Chinese patents, 2 of which have been authorized.
