Pengbo Wan is a Full Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT). He was supported by the Hundred Talent Program (BUCT) (Supervisor: Prof. Liqun Zhang).

He was a Postdoc. Researcher of Harvard University in Prof. David A. Weitz's group.

He received his B.S. degree (2006) at Wuhan University and his Ph.D. degree (Supervisor: Prof. Xi Zhang) at Tsinghua University (2011).

He focuses on the elaborate fabrication of versatile sensitively wearable electronic sensing devices from the functional polymer nanocomposites for intelligent human-machine interface, personal healthcare monitoring, and smart electronic skins.

So far, he has published more than 80 peer-reviewed research articles on Matter, Device, Adv. Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater., ACS Nano, and so on. Related research results have been highlighted and totally cited more than 15000 times, including more than 16 highly cited papers. Related research results have been reported on People's Daily and the website of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. He was selected as one of World’s Top 2% Scientists (Prof. John P.A. Ioannidis’s group in Standford University & Elsevier). He was awarded with the Most Picked Award of Paper Publication on Cell Press (2022 Chinese Scientists with Cell Press). He serves as Editorial Board Member of Smart Materials in Medicine.
