Main research fields are as follows: Preparation of advanced carbon materials and their applications, including: Pitch-based carbon materials (mesophase pitch, carbon fibers and mesocarbon microbeads); Carbon nanomaterials (carbon nanotubes, graphene, carbon-encapsulated metal nanomaterials and onion-like carbons); Carbon materials for energy storage (Lithium/Sodium/Potassium-ion batteries and supercapacitors); Porous carbons (such as ordered mesoporous carbons and carbon aerogels) More than 330 peer-reviewed journal papers have been published in academic journals such as J. Am. Chem. Soc.,Angew Chem Int Ed., Chem. Mater., Adv Energy Mater., Adv Func Mater., Carbon, Fuel, with about 17000 SCI other citation times.
