Introduction

Dr. Zhuo Wang works as a full professor at College of Science in Beijing University of Chemical Technology.  She received a PhD at Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Science (2006) and she was a postdoc at Bowling Green State University (USA) from 2006 to 2008. She got an assistant professor position at National Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from2009-2012, and she worked as an associate professor from 2012 to 2015. In 2015, she moved to Beijing University of Chemical Technology and employed as a full professor. Her research interests include the design and synthesis of organic functional molecules for bio-imaging and bio-analysis, the modificationand of nanomaterials for biochemical analysis, and the organic-nano composite materials for multi-functional carrier.She has received several prestigious awards for young career investigators including the Excellent Young Scientist Foundation of NSFC, Lu Jiaxi Young Talent Award from CAS, Beijing Science and Technology Award, and the Science and Technology Award of China Association for Instrumental Analysis. Her research has been published inAngew. Chem. Int. Ed., J. Am. Chem. Soc., ACS nano, Anal. Chem., Analyst,etc. More than seventy papers are published, and cited more than 2500 times.

Research

Dr. Zhuo Wang conducts research at the intersection of analytical chemistry and chemical biology, with a focus on the design and synthesis of organic functional molecules and composite nanomaterials. Her research has resulted in the synthesis of a series of small molecules and polymer sensing and imaging probes with fluorescent properties, which have led to a series of research results in the field of bio-analysis and imaging; and the synthesis of organic-nanocomposite materials, which have been used in antibacterial, tumor-targeted drug delivery and therapeutic research.

Prof. Zhuo Wang taught graduate courses (Introduction to Chemical Biology) and undergraduate courses (Organic Chemistry, Introduction to Chemistry).
