IntroductionProf. Jian-Feng Chen is the Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and has been promoted to Secretary-general of the Chinese Academy of Engineering since June 2018. Prof. Chen received a BSc degree and a PhD degree from Zhejiang University in Chemical Engineering in 1986 and 1992, respectively. He finished his postdoctoral research in Zhejiang University in 1994, and then joined Beijing University of Chemical Technology as an Associate Professor and a Full Professor in 1997. Prof. Chen was a visiting full professor at Case Western Reserve University, USA from 1997 to 1998 and a Research Professor in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore from 1999 to 2000.Moreover, Prof. Chen serves as the Executive Editor-in-Chief of Engineering, Editorial Board Member of Reaction Chemistry & Engineering (RSC), Chemical Engineering & Technology (Wiley) and Particuology (Elsevier); Council Member of World Chemical Engineering Council; Vice Chairman of the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China (CIESC).
